An Open Letter to Santa Claus from Henry
Dear Santa,
I know that everyone thinks you're all "great" and everything, but I don't understand you.
Last I checked, you were a big fat guy with a cookie problem.
You don't shave and your breath smells a little like old milk.
The truth is you scare the BeJesus out of me. So I think I'll pull the escape move. Sorry.
{But I will send my brother in for an extra hug to try to get on your good side.}
The thing is, Santa, if I see you in a different place, you look different and I think people are starting to notice.
And while I may be warming up to the idea of you,
I just don't think you're my kind of guy. So I think I'll pull the escape move. Sorry.
But I will take that candy cane you're wheeling around, Mister.
I hope this doesn't mean you will leave me without cars or trains on Christmas.
You understand, right?
Your friend {from afar},
Henry
P.S. I will gladly take more candy canes if you've got them tucked away, fat guy. You know you do. Hand 'em over.

Santa is right up there with clowns and Ronald McDonald - CREEPY!!! My santas always smelled like bourbon and urine, so why would any self-repecting child want to sit on that lap?! Today I realize that if I had kids peeing on me all day, I might need a flask myself, but at the time... YIKES!!!!!
The escape move is classic! So funny! And the pic of Ollie hugging Santa is just adorable. Sorry you couldn't get a good picture with Santa. Maybe next year!
Santa, or Ho Ho, as he is referred to in our house, is a little scary! The same thing happened last year... MC was excited to see him and smiled, and AG screamed bloody murder!
Cute pics! Glad you are doing better!
Look. At those. Matching. Shirts!!! So darned cute!
Ok, that is way cute. How in the world do those Santas do their job. I don't think I've ever done the taking kids to Santa pict thing. I have not idea why. I'd rather they hand out reese's cups to the mom's than candycanes to the kiddos. Maybe then I'd do it:)
Very cute! Parker has been scared before too, she conquered her fear last year but was still skiddish. Grant was scared of Mickey Mouse & Company at WDW so I am pretty sure Santa is going to FREAK.HIM.OUT.
Glad to see you are feeling better.
so what's the verdict? does being afraid of santa mean you only get coal in your stocking? if so, both my kids are in for a surprise this christmas. they are totally freaked out by him.
AC is 4 and still only wants to see the fat man from afar! :)
Too funny! Glad to see you're back (you went missing for a few days!) maybe you needed to recover from the Santa visit!
Oh no! The 'crying Santa' picture! When my oldest was 2 he flipped out, but I still had the picture made anyway. Then, every time I looked at it, it broke my heart. But, now it's kinda funny. ;)
have you sent those in to the ellen show? hysterical!
what is it like waiting in line? does he want to go up to santa? is he crying the whole time?
my kids don't mind santa... they'll sit... but not necessarily talk :)
so glad you are feeling better!
How cute.

You make my day!
I'd hug you, but this screen makes it a little awkward.
