Sofa

You might have noticed in pictures that we have an "L" shaped sofa in our living room. That's because we have a narrow room there and had to make the most out of the space. And because we like to veg and sleep on the sofa.

We fold clothes, tickle children, sneak snacks and crash there many days.

But what I found out tonight is that the sofa takes back for all that it gives us.

I decided to check out what might be living underneath the sofa.
It had nearly taken everything. Good thing I got there just in time.

Below are the contents of what I found under the sofa tonight {lined up as if it were Christmas morning- because I very well may just hide this stuff and give it to my children for Christmas!}:
Sofa 2
My favorite find was this man's mullet wig.
sofa 3
There were also 24 {Twenty. Four.} Thomas Trains in attendance {a few not shown here}. One for every hour of the day.
sofa 4
And also the Jesus monster truck we've been missing.
sofa 5
Because that's how we roll.

What I can't understand is how a single solitary Twix bar made it's way out of my grip.
Lucky little bar.

Have you ever cleaned underneath your sofa and been surprised? I'm so thankful there is not rotting milk under there. Or a live animal. It would have been entertained, though!

I'm off to hide that recorder back under the sofa. I'm sending it as a peace offering to the sofa and my ears and hoping it doesn't ask me to return the Twix!

Wow! What an adventure. How did that many Thomas Tank toys disappear and not be missed? Ooops, maybe I shouldn't have asked that. (But I have found the rotting milk before. And even worse, the rotting formula. Eww.)

One time we moved the sofa and low and behold behind it was 125 empty capri Sun packages. Now, I was frightened by the fact that my children are too lazy to walk to the garbage, think that behind the sofa is a great place to throw your trash and how much sugar Wallace had to have consumed to have ingested that much Capri Sun. It is scary when you see it all piled up at once.

I don't know what's more shocking - the number of Thomas trains, the mullet (THE MULLET!) or the Jesus truck.

I think I'm going to go with the mullet. :)

Skippyjon Jones was abandoned under the sofa? For Shame!

LOL...just teasing. That book was my youngest son's Absolute Favorite when he was little. We still have it around.

Alas...our Thomas trains were given away to our school's kindergarten this fall, to commemorate our son's moving upstairs to the Jr. High wing. Do I miss them? Just a little, but not enough to ask for them all back!

NO WAY! Seriously? And I too can't believe that so many Thomas' could not be missed. You think they know EXACTLY where all of that was?

Wow, Hill.....
I'm wondering... how many trains did you have to buy before deciding to look under the couch?

you are thinking about it all wrong dear Hillary :). Some people have a junk drawer, some people have a catch all closet, you simply have that extra space under your couch! How clever of you to use every inch of space in your home for good use :-D

And obviously no one else considers looking under there for their lost treasures so it would appear to be the perfect spot for you to keep the things you don't want others touching :)!

In my home, you can reach way down deep into the insides of the sofa. This is typically where the remote is hiding when every other member of the family says they have looked EVERYWHERE for it. I used to think they were just too lazy to look that hard, but now I think I am the only one brave enough to stick my hand that deep into the sofa...cause we never know what else is 'living' in there!

Girl - that is some collection. I loved being reminded of our thomas the tank engine collection and i really loved that Jesus truck. I would have been tempted just to shove that collection right back where it came from.

Hilarious! We likely have an assortment of broken jewelry under our sofa since we have girls. Come to think of it, maybe those long-lost play dress-up heels are under there... ;)

You are my new bestie! LOL!!! You are hilarious!

The simple fact that you own a Mullet Wig makes you the coolest girl on Earth! :)

I won't even tell you the treasures we have discovered under our couches. It's frightning. Although the best was when it ATE my phone. It fell inside the dumb thing. All day long I kept hearing my phone ring, and couldn't find it. We finally had to cut the back of the couch open to get my phone back. And now, old faithful is obliged to be pushed back against the wall, to hide the big gash.

we actually rearranged den furniture last weekend and came across a few things under our couches... nothing that remotely compares to your finds?! hilarious! and yes, i have found milk several days later. at least sometimes it's in the play fridge upstairs.
