Bump Pics and My Closeted Business

Alright, I caved and took some belly bump shots for you today. I tried to tell you people (online and in real life) that I have really large children ( 9+ and 10+ lbs) and get big pretty quickly. I don't know if anyone really believes me until about, well... now. Wonderfully nice people are saying things like, "WOW! You look REALLY PREGnant" (emphasis on PREG for some reason). How am I supposed to respond to that?
I'm thinking, "WOW! What are you going to say for the next 15 weeks!?". But I'm sure I manage something kind.
Maybe.

I thought about just showing you my vantage point.
feet

But that wouldn't be fair.

So I took some shots in the boys' bathroom today. While I was there, I noticed a few things:
1) Their mirror is horrendously dirty.
2) Those towels in the back were not straight.
3) I match their bathroom today!
4) It feels really goofy smiling at yourself in the mirror.
bump 1- 23 weeks

This was a lot more fun.
bump 2- 23 weeks

And then I started snorting laughing at my dirty mirror and piggy face and the possibility of placing these blackmail shots of MYSELF online. (And I straightened the towels.)
Bump 3- 23 weeks

The front view is not that bad if you take out the tongue and the shirt that looks like it belongs to my 4 year old.
Bump 4- 23 weeks

And no photo shoot is complete without a fish face, of course.
bump 5- 23 weeks

So there you have it, folks. I hope that answers your burning questions. THAT is what I look like.
At 23 weeks PREGnant. That's right. Twenty- three- not a typo.

In other news, I've been hinting that I've been working on a "project" that's taking up all my "free time" and I'm sorry I've been out of the blog loop (is that the "bloop?).

Here's a pictoral clue as to what's going on.
We have recently purchased this:
monogramming machine
And I started making test samples of these:
first towels

More info to come really soon!

P.S. Is it okay to say that I love Jesus, but hate Easter grass?
Just asking...

Easter grass

P.P.S. (I'm pretty sure I haven't written that since 4th grade) I'm thinking of doing a video for this Friday Favorites! Be sure to come by and play! I will try to go live with the linky Thursday night around 10:00 pm CDT. See you then!

I think I've only left a few comments here before, but I just wanted to tell you that I think your bump is adorable! I'm 22 weeks pregnant with my first baby, and I can't stop looking at myself in the mirror. It's so strange to see myself growing this way. However, you are so brave to post from your head down! I usually focus in on the neck down because it is weird to smile at yourself! Also, I like your jeans a lot! It's hard to find cute maternity jeans that stay up! Oh and one more thing! That last picture made me laugh SO MUCH!

You are so adorable!! Fish face is my favorite. I love anything embroidered, is that a southern thing?

And I think the only thing worse than the plastic grass (not your dog choking on it) is the tiny pieces of shredded paper I've seen in baskets.

Great pictures! You have such a cute sense of humor. :) I can't sew a stitch but even I can recognize how totally cool that machine is. Are you going to start a little business? I'm in the market for personalized pillowcases for my girls...

I think you look fantastic! enjoy it all (except maybe the people who touch the bump uninvited...you don't have to enjoy them.)

Love the pics! I laughed so hard, I peed a little :) You look too cute pregnant. I on the other hand looked like Shamu. Can't wait to hear all about the monogramming project! Jealous!

You make me snort ;) Your belly is big but cute, my friend. Now go wash that mirror.

You know how some PREGnant women just look huge and PREGnant? Well, you look uberfabulous and PREGnant. And really hysterical doing the fishy face in the mirror... :-)

So cute, Hillary! But my eyes did bug out a little when you said twenty-three weeks. It took me forever to get a good baby bump going with MB. Maybe next baby will speed it up a bit. :)

Easter grass is terrible but the kind they have now (more like paper) is so much better than the cellophane kind that had static and stuck to everything!

I looked like you. My second child weighed nine and a half pounds, outweighing her brother by a pound and a half.

Ooh! I am so jealous of your machine! I have a single thread, home machine, so machines like yours make me completely green. From jealousy, not nausea. Have fun! It can be addictive. I know lots of cute design websites, if you need 'em.

Cute bump, too!

You look fantastic! Love the fishy face photo. It goes so well with the baby bump.

You are too cute, and your eyes really glow! Your whole face lights up. (But maybe it's the joy of straight towels.) SO... you have big healthy babies. Me too - did. I think your bump is beautiful, and if your fish-face can't make you smile, remember your bump makes your hind-side & legs look super-skinnier! (Mine only made me look 3 ax handles wide.) Can't wait to hear all the sew-cool business news.

Have fun with the biz!
Here's a tip:Go ahead and do everything you want to do for your own family first. After you announce that you are open-there will be NO slowing down! And then, when people say 'oh, I bet your kids have so much monogrammed stuff' you will have to remind them of the story about the cobbler's children.
Good luck!!

you look great! by the third, your stomach just knows what to do and automatically pops out to at least 7 month position. can't wait to see your monograms!

You look great! Enjoy that bump! :)
And I'm with you on the easter grass - whoever invented that stuff anyway?

Tara said...

Cute belly pics...I'm with you on not posting pics with skin showing...even though I was lucky enough to escape pregnancy without a mark (my baby girl was only a wee little 7 pounder) I still get uncomfortable looking at bare pregnant bellies...I really didn't even like looking at my own round tummy!

I now how embroidery machine envy...your machine would leave mine in the dust! You picked a great brand...my machine is also a Baby Lock...but it's a wee bit smaller and a lot slower I'm sure! I can't wait to see what else you are working on!

Melissa said...

You look great! Totally with you on the Easter grass! I can't STAND that stuff. You think you've got it all cleaned up, and then you find more of it in the carpet. Looking forward to seeing more of your monogramming!

You look awesome! Here;s hoping no one tells you "even your tongue is swollen - have you noticed you are talking different?". That was my favorite from my sweet little sister-in-law.

Erin said...

Hey, just to let you know: I've always thought that you were gorgeous :)

Also, Will (the future hubs) thinks that pregnant women are the most gorgeous women ever!

Dawn said...

why has someone not banned easter grass yet? why? definitely not a "God-thing!"

you are too funny... in your bathroom taking pics. hamming it up for... yourself?! haha! but i loved it :) and you look great at 23 weeks.
(this makes me think of a wedding i went to, pregnant, and someone compared my belly to someone else was was more pregnant than me. yep. it has stuck with me all these years... ick)

Hillary, you are adorable! Don't let anyone imply otherwise. As a matter of fact, when someone comments on your belly size you can say, "My friends are all saying I'm adorable and really cute. Is that what YOU are saying, too?"

Your new business looks great. It's always good when you can combine a creative talent with a way to bring in some extra income!

You are beautiful, really, and really really funny. I had big boys too - 9 lbs 12 and 9 lbs 15 - so I was huge. My favorite humbling statment was at the makeup counter with a beautiful saleslady. She looked at me in my yellow, floral, zip up jumper, and stopped in her tracks to say, "Bless Her Heart." We all know what that really mean!
